Stop Scrolling, Start Building: God Didn’t Call You to Be Lazy
Let’s be real. A lot of us are waiting for God to drop blessings like they’re downloads. We pray, we dream big, we talk about “purpose” — but we do nothing. We sleep late, scroll endlessly, make excuses, and then say, “God will provide.” But here’s the truth: faith is not laziness in disguise. God never blesses excuses. He blesses effort.
God Works With Movers, Not Sitters
In Genesis, before there was sin, there was work. God gave Adam a job in paradise. Work is not a punishment. It’s part of your design. Proverbs 10 verse 4 says, “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” That means God expects you to do something with your hands, your time, and your energy.
Waiting on God without working is like waiting to pass an exam you never studied for. It’s spiritual wishful thinking — not faith.
Jesus Worked. So Should You
Jesus was a carpenter before He started preaching. Paul made tents while planting churches. The Proverbs 31 woman was an entrepreneur. God never said sit and chill. He said go and work.
Colossians 3 verse 23 says, “Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Whether it’s school, business, art, or even chores, you’re supposed to work like God is your boss. Because He is.
Don’t Waste Your Youth
You say you’re young, but God used David as a teenager to kill a giant. He used Joseph in his twenties to save nations. You have time now to build something. Start that business. Learn that skill. Help your family. Stop making excuses and start making progress.
Your Prayer Life Means Nothing Without Hustle
James 2 verse 17 says, “Faith without works is dead.” If you pray for success but sleep all day, you’re lying to yourself. You want God to bless your plans, but you haven’t made any. You’re praying for money, but you’re not willing to put in the hours. That’s not faith. That’s laziness dressed in church clothes.
Get Up. God Is Waiting on You Too
God can open doors, but you’ve got to knock. He can bless your hustle, but you’ve got to show up. Entrepreneurship is one way you reflect God — He is the ultimate Creator. You were made in His image to create, build, serve, and lead.
Stop scrolling. Stop sleeping on yourself. Stop calling laziness “rest.” God gave you a brain, hands, and ideas for a reason.
Get up and use them.
