A brand worth protecting

 Keeping Up with My Brand

When God created humanity, He did so with breathtaking intentionality. Genesis 1:27 declares, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." We were born bearing the stamp of the Divine — handcrafted with dignity, purpose, and a calling to reflect His glory. In essence, we were God's original brand ambassadors, carrying His character into all creation.

But somewhere along the journey of time, the brand began to blur.

The evolution of society — from ancient civilizations to modern technological empires — has slowly but steadily pulled many of us away from that original design. Fashion, media, cultural shifts, and ideologies have rebranded humanity in ways that often eclipse the image of the Creator. In a world increasingly driven by self-expression, self-promotion, and self-fulfillment, it becomes dangerously easy to forget that our first and highest identity is rooted in the One who formed us.

The Crisis of Rebranding

Modern life is obsessed with reinvention. Social media profiles can be curated and recalibrated in moments. Fashion trends change faster than the seasons. Ideologies evolve to suit the desires of the day. As Paul warned in Romans 1:25, "They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator." Humanity, hungry for meaning but untethered from truth, has often traded in the priceless original brand for cheaper imitations.

We see it in the way identity is now viewed: fluid, customizable, and defined by feelings rather than the Creator's blueprint. We see it in the way truth is treated: not as absolute but as flexible, relative, and negotiable. Our generation has adopted evolution not just as a scientific theory, but as a social mantra: evolve into whoever you want to be, regardless of the original design.

But is that freedom? Or is it a kind of forgetting?

Returning to the Designer

A brand thrives when it stays true to its founding vision. Similarly, we thrive when we align ourselves again with God's original intent for us.

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." You and I are not accidents. We are not afterthoughts. We are intentional masterpieces — but masterpieces require maintenance.

Keeping up with my brand means choosing to live by the standards of heaven, not the trends of earth. It means measuring success not by how many followers or dollars we accumulate, but by how faithfully we mirror the love, justice, mercy, and holiness of God.

Practical Ways to Maintain the Brand

1. Stay Connected to the Source:

Jesus said in John 15:5, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." A daily relationship with God through prayer, worship, and Scripture keeps our identity rooted in Him, not in fleeting cultural currents.

2. Guard Your Mind and Heart:

Proverbs 4:23 warns, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." In an age of information overload, guarding what we consume — movies, music, social media — helps preserve the integrity of our brand.

3. Live Counterculturally:

Romans 12:2 calls us to "not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." In a culture of compromise, staying faithful to God's standards may seem radical — but it is the way of true authenticity.

4. Reflect the Character of Christ:

Kindness, humility, patience, and sacrificial love are the colors of our true brand. When we walk in these, we show the world what humanity was always meant to be.

A Living Testimonyt

Imagine a world where believers wore their true brand boldly — not through T-shirts or slogans, but through lives marked by such love, peace, and power that others can't help but notice. We would be living proof that God's design is not outdated, irrelevant, or oppressive — it is the highest and truest freedom.

In a world desperate for identity, keeping up with our brand becomes a form of silent evangelism. When you live according to God's original design, you become a lighthouse — quietly, steadily, unmistakably guiding others back to the Creator.

Keep the Brand Alive

You were created for more than survival. You were made for glory. The "brand" of your life is not something you manufacture — it is something you steward. Every day is a choice: will you evolve away from God's vision, or will you, by grace, keep up with it?

As Colossians 3:10 so beautifully puts it, "Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator."

In a constantly shifting world, may we be

the ones who keep faith with the original masterpiece.
